We caught up with Andrew this past December at his new cuveree found within the 16th century ramparts of Beaune. We had the opportunity to taste the ’12s in December 2012 and they already were showing great purity, I remember being really intrigued about the potential of his new 1er crus “Boucherottes” and the 1er blanc Beaune “Les Greves.” It was truly a pleasure to taste them again this past December, as they were much more developed, elegant wines. Burgundy author Bill Nanson liked Andrew’s 12′s so much he included Le Grappin in an article he wrote for Wine Searcher titled “The 10 Best Unsung Burgundy Producers.” Mr. Nanson describes them, “his wines offer clarity, incision and contemplation – just lovely.”
