We are honored to introduce Yann Charlopin, a young winemaker out of Morey-Saint-Denis from a family of winemakers with exceptional holdings up and down the Côte de Nuits. Yann set out on his own and with the advice from mentor Jean-Marie Fourrier, he purchased the vineyards and the small Domaine in the old caves of Domaine David Clark in 2013. Yann practices organic farming, short fermentation using a ‘maceration à froid’ and a long, gentle elevage on fine lees. For a new Domaine, Yann has made quite a splash and you can find his wines on Paris lists of Tour d’Argent, Frenchie, and here in California at Bouchon and Spago, just to name a few. We are the only U.S. importer of the Domaine Charlopin-Tissier wines. The production is very small and demand has been brisk, grab yours while they are still available!
