The Charmes fruit comes from the Les Charmes Dessus et Dessous lieu-dit with vines ranging in age of 10-52 years of age. The wine is aged 1 year in barrel, 20% of which is new oak and then 6 months in tank, prior to bottling. I find the Porusots to be more acid and mineral driven on initial taste and the Gouttes d’Or to be more rich, where this wine is in between both on the front palate, with all wines getting to a similar taste profile as the wines open up.
